I have been building software side projects for a couple of years now - more and more since the advent of Claude Code and the rest. I have always used Supabase or Firebase as BaaS since it was more or less the default solution all agents will suggest. Then we wanted to build a health app and found no simple BaaS solution without exposure to the US Cloud Act - self hosting or trusting the very uncertain sovereignty claims of the competition were the only options.
I wanted a Supabase-like product with;
GDPR compliance and DSAR exports, and NO real or potential exposure to the US Cloud Act

running on EU infra
I could not find anything, so I built Eurobase.
The goal is to offer a secure, credible EU sovereign alternative for solo devs, SMBs and startups who want to avoid any (GDPR related) legal risk connected to backend services. This is a rare case where a small team can beat the big players - they cannot offer a no-risk solution without moving their head office to Europe, and that is not happening.
