Essential Breathing is a tiny open-source breathing app for simple, quiet pauses. It shows a smooth visual inhale/exhale rhythm, lets you adjust breath and session duration, and works directly in the browser as a lightweight PWA. No account, no clutter, no coaching noise — just a calm timer to help you slow down for a few minutes.
I built Essential Breathing because I wanted a very simple breathing app — and most of the ones I found on Android felt too complicated, required an account, had subscriptions, or included ads.
So I made the opposite: a tiny, quiet breathing timer with no account, no ads, no subscription, and no unnecessary features. You open it, press play, and follow a smooth visual inhale/exhale rhythm.
The project started as a small Godot mobile app. I originally wanted to publish it on the Android store, but the release process felt too heavy for such a simple tool, so I made a lightweight web/PWA version that anyone can use directly in the browser.
I’d love to hear your feedback, especially on whether it feels simple, calm, and useful enough for short pauses during the day.
