Hey PH 👋 I'm Breeanne. I built Essence because I was losing my mornings AND my nights to my phone.
As a mom of two girls, my time is sacred. But I kept reaching for my phone before I'd even gotten out of bed, and scrolling in bed long after I should've been asleep. So many of us do this. The phone eats both ends of the day. I wanted something that would help me show up for myself first, morning and night, before the scroll, before the noise.
Essence is what I wished existed: a companion that holds space for your morning ritual and your nighttime wind down, locks your attention-stealing apps until you've actually done the ritual, and nudges you back to what matters throughout the day.
The app lock is powered by Apple's native Screen Time framework. It's real, not a reminder you can ignore.
I've built this as a solo founder, mama, gardener, and ocean swimmer who believes our attention is our most sacred resource. Every feature in Essence came from something I personally needed, especially getting my nights back.
