I built this because GPT kept hallucinating what PG “might say.” This custom GPT only pulls from paulgraham.com — no summaries, no fluff, just cited answers straight from his essays. Built for builders who want clarity, not noise.
I’m a founder and like many here, I often turn to Paul Graham’s essays when I’m stuck, thinking about ideas, markets, ambition, or just getting unstuck.
But asking GPT “What would PG say about this?” often returned vague summaries, hallucinations, or web-scraped noise. So I built a GPT that only pulls from the essays on paulgraham.com. No web search. No guesswork. Just direct answers with citations.
You can ask:
• What does PG say about cofounders?
• How to find startup ideas?
• What mistakes do early founders make?
…and it will respond with actual passages from his essays + links.
Probably the two best ways I think about how to prompt my friend's practice fundraising pitches is to give the general company idea into chatgbt and then ask what would Paul Graham ask (and also take a very different investor Keith Rabios). I like the essay specific look up here.. Thanks for building this.
This is such a smart idea — cutting through the noise and grounding responses in PG’s actual essays is a huge win for clarity and insight. Love the focus on citation and depth. Built for builders, by one. Congrats on the launch! 🚀📚
Congrats on launching this
Love the clarity this brings to Paul Graham’s work founders really need that kind of focused insight.
I help early-stage startups grow fast on LinkedIn. If you're looking to amplify this, happy to support.
It's very good.
I am featuring it on AISQ /Radio today. More people need to know about it, because it's awesome to get the close-to-reality advice and ideas, instead of AI hallucinations.
I just tried chatting with this GPT, it's really straightforward, clear. A useful idea, thank you.
Interesting product! Definitely seeing a lot of noise everywhere these days
this is something I didn’t know I needed. I’ve read most of his essays before but forgot where certain thoughts were. Now I can just ask and get the exact quote, not some reworded version. Would love to see this expand to other deep thinkers too
This is such a fun and interesting product! I've actually created my version of him before, using system prompt. But obviously, you guys are doing a much more serious job. Upvoted!
Nice one Sunny, true sometimes existing LLM doesn't have the personal experience knowledge
Interesting. Are you also planning any series? Like Essays by [... add any personality] :)
