Eron
Your own AI server, in a native app for iPhone and iPad
Eron is a native app for talking to your own AI server, whether that is Ollama at home or any OpenAI compatible endpoint. Version 1.4 adds a sidebar with projects, web search through DuckDuckGo, your own SearXNG or Brave, and answers from your calendar, reminders and Home that read like normal sentences. Chats sync through your own iCloud. No accounts, no tracking, and nothing ever passes through a server of mine.
Hey everyone, Henning here, the solo dev behind Eron.
Six months ago Eron launched here as a simple way to chat with your own models on the iPhone. Since then it has grown into something much bigger, and this update is the one I have been most excited to share.
Eron now works with whatever you use: Ollama at home, any OpenAI compatible server, or an API key from OpenAI or Anthropic. The whole app got a new look with a sidebar that slides in like you know it from other chat apps, and your chats can live in projects so work and private stuff stay apart. Everything syncs through your own iCloud across iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Web search got rebuilt from the ground up, and you decide where your searches go. Ask about your calendar, your reminders or your lights and you get a real answer instead of raw data. You can also send images, PDFs and other files to Eron straight from the share sheet.
No accounts, no tracking, and nothing passes through a server of mine.
I would love to hear what you use Eron with and what you want to see next.

Who hunted Eron?
Eron was hunted by Henning. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
