Built for Creator growth, Engine Room brings all of your platform analytics, media kit, and rate cards together in one easy to use dashboard. Engine Room Media helps creators grow across all their favorite platforms (including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Patreon, Spotify, and Twitch) with data-driven insights, brand deals, and peer connections.
Creators don’t have a data problem. They have an answers problem.
YouTube tells you what happened on YouTube. Spotify tells you what happened on Spotify. Patreon tells you what happened on Patreon.
But creators don’t run a YouTube business, a Spotify business and a Patreon business. They run one business.
We’re launching Engine Room to help them understand it.
Engine Room brings a creator’s data together across platforms and turns it into actionable intelligence.
- What content is actually driving growth – and why?
- What makes people subscribe?
- Where is the money coming from?
- What should I make more of?
At the heart of Engine Room is The Producer, powered by AI and trained on each creator’s own data, with insights informed by anonymized benchmarks. Ask it a question about your business and get an immediate, data-backed answer.
Engine Room also uses that data to power tools creators can actually use:
Rate Cards and Reporting Cards that pull in verified metrics and can be shared publicly or privately with brands and partners.
Smartlinks that show what audiences do after seeing a post, whether they watch another video, join a Patreon, visit a merch store or engage with a brand campaign. In other words, are all those promotional posts actually doing anything?
We originally built this technology for ourselves, using data to identify opportunities and help creator businesses grow. It worked. Eventually, we realized the technology was the bigger opportunity. Instead of using it with a handful of creators, we could build it for everyone.
That became Engine Room.
Hey Product Hunt. Keith here, co-founder and CEO of Engine Room.
We built the tool we wished existed, just for ourselves at first. Then we realized the entire creator economy needed it, not just the handful of creators we were investing in directly.
Before this was a product, my co-founder David and I worked directly with a handful of creators, pulling their YouTube, Spotify and Patreon numbers by hand to answer a few questions: can this creator grow, and if so how? What's actually working? Should we invest in them?
The answer was almost never obvious from the surface, or to the creator themself. In fact, all their platform data was overwhelming to them. The video that felt like a hit wasn't the one driving subscribers. The platform with the most views wasn't the one making the most money. But we could use analytics to find patterns and isolate outliers that pointed to real opportunities.
At first we built this analytics and insights engine to make ourselves better opportunity spotters and investors. Then we decided to turn it into something any creator could use on their own, no analyst or spreadsheet required. Because this would help everyone - us, Creators, businesses that use content marketing on social, and even the platforms they are on. The entire ecosystem.
Curious for this crowd: if you're a creator, or work with one, what's the one number you wish you could see clearly across platforms but can't today? Want to know what we should build next.
Hi Product Hunt!
I’m David Harleston, co-founder of Engine Room Media. I’ve spent my career in media, from Def Jam to Current TV, working wherever great content, culture and audiences meet. My founding partner, Keith Quinn, has led digital teams at Paramount and knows better than almost anyone what it takes to build and grow audiences at scale.
Between us, we’ve seen what’s possible when media businesses have the right data. We’ve also seen how rarely creators get it.
Engine Room didn’t start as a product.
In the beginning, we built the technology for our own work with creators. We used data to spot opportunities, find out what was working and help creator businesses grow.
And it worked. The creators we worked with grew, and we understood their audiences in ways they’d never been able to before.
Then we saw the bigger opportunity
Over time we realized the technology itself was the bigger story. We could only work closely with a handful of creators. If we built it into a platform, every creator could get the same kind of insight that used to be reserved for major labels, networks and studios.
That’s what Engine Room Media is: the tools we built for ourselves, now built for everyone.
We’d love for you to try it and tell us what you think. Keith and I will be here in the comments all day!
From the engineering side of Engine Room, creator data is one of the messiest challenges I've worked on. Every platform reports differently, and they're constantly changing how they do it. One piece the team spent a lot of time, and I am especially proud of is our conversion tracking system. Having that first-party data lets creators see which post actually led to something instead of guessing.
Hey Product Hunt!
I’m Marc, Head of Brand & Design at Engine Room Media, and a seasoned designer/developer who you might recognize from my past works on Product Hunt, like DAYYO. I’m excited to finally share what we’ve been building.
Why it looks the way it does
Most analytics tools look like the exact same SaaS dashboard: dense grids, tiny charts, and a lot of guessing about what actually matters. Sites like PostHog stirred me away from the fairly standardized Anthropic design scheme, showing that analytics software can have personality without sacrificing power.
Our goal was to create something that feels familiar to the tech world while standing out in a crowded room. We wanted Engine Room to feel approachable, human, and grounded. To bring that to life, I built our visual identity around sketched character illustrations representing Creators, juxtaposed with technical machinery elements that echo our name. The core idea is simple: we’re the crew behind the scenes running the machinery that powers your creator business.
Who we built it for
We kept two kinds of creators in mind:
Creators who just want clear direction: You shouldn’t have to decode a wall of charts to know what’s working. Engine Room delivers plain-language recommendations on what step to take next.
Creators who want to dig into the details: Everything backing those recommendations is available for you to explore, filter, and question.
Neither group should have to settle for a tool built exclusively for the other.
Where it comes from
As the sole designer on this project, Engine Room is the culmination of everything I’ve learned across product design, advertising, brand identity, motion graphics, and front-end development.
In past media and advertising campaigns, having deep, connected insights into audience behavior was standard practice. Individual creators rarely get that level of holistic clarity, and we built Engine Room to change that.
Why we’re building tools like SmartLinks & Media Kits
Creators today are stuck juggling half a dozen disconnected point solutions, one app for smartlinks, another for basic link tracking, and a completely separate dashboard for analytics.
We’re bringing all of those essential tools into one unified platform. By tying smartlinks, mediakits and creator tooling directly into your core analytics, you get a clear, cross-platform picture of how your audience moves between your content and converts, without the headache of stitching together disconnected services or spreadsheets.
We’d love your feedback, not just on the platform features, but on the overall design and feel of both the app and the marketing site. We’ll be in the comments section all day!

Who hunted Engine Room Media?
Engine Room Media was hunted by Geordie McClelland. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. See the full all-time top hunters leaderboard to discover who is shaping the Product Hunt ecosystem.
