A few months ago, I realized I was completely burnt out by my phone. Between API rate limits, Slack pings, and the anxiety of misread iMessages with my partner, our phones felt like stress machines rather than tools to connect.
Texting has become too noisy, too demanding, and honestly... too toxic.
So I built Embers. It’s an iOS widget designed exclusively for two people.
🎨 How it works:
You link the app with your partner. Instead of typing paragraphs, you just draw a doodle or write a quick whisper. It instantly syncs to their home screen widget. No notifications. No "read at 2:00 AM" receipts. No pressure to reply immediately.
It’s just a silent, intimate space living right on your home screen. A little sanctuary where you can leave a weird dog doodle for them to find when they unlock their phone.
