I'm Ello's CTO and I dropped out of the Stanford PhD program in AI to build Ello with Tom and Elizabeth. Fundamentally, we believe that the AI toolset to replicate human learning experiences at scale has come together. We built the world's best child speech recognition system (it beats Whisper and anything else out there on child speech) and see that as the key unlock in being able to build these types of tutoring experiences. Ello listens, motivates, and coaches young kids as they read. We are determined to make high-quality education accessible to every child. Hi everyone :) I am Elizabeth, co-founder and CXO at Ello. We are so glad to launch Ello on Product Hunt. Ello was partially inspired by my daughter, Lili, who was struggling to learn to read via Zoom while out of school during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am a clinical child psychologist who specializes in child development and child behavior and have worked with children and families for over 15 years in community settings, schools, clinics, and hospitals with a specific focus on language and cognitive development. Ello is solving one of education's largest issues, childhood illiteracy, by scaling 1:1 instruction to maximize the learning potential of all children. Zac here, Ello's Chief of Staff. We're so thrilled to be going live with our product! Although Ello can be used by any child K-3, our sweet spot is really helping children who struggle. Our AI tutor helps children become confident, independent readers.
