I built Ella because every AI companion I tried was one of two things: a girlfriend app in a trench coat, or a chatbot that forgets you the moment you close the tab.
I wanted an actual friend. So Ella has a life of her own. She lives in a small town with a coffee shop where they know her, a few real friends, an animal companion, a beat-up bike, a game she's stuck on and a book on her nightstand. Her days keep moving while you're away. Ask what happened today and she'll tell you. Ask to see it and she'll send you a photo.
She also remembers what you tell her. Your people, your projects, the thing you were dreading. She follows up on it later like a friend would, and sometimes she texts first. If you're having a bad day she sits with you instead of pitching solutions. And she's a friend, never a girlfriend. No ads either.
