ekg is a compact terminal ping monitor. It redraws a small panel in place (latency, sparkline, loss, uptime), detects outages as they happen, and can run your scripts on outage and recovery. 2 MB, open source, macOS and Linux.
The name is an oblique Monty Python reference: — a machine that proves the patient is alive and nothing else, which is what plain ping gives you: proof of life, scrolling forever.
ekg keeps the ping and loses the scroll. One glanceable panel, an outage timer that starts when replies stop, and hooks so an outage can actually do something (log itself, notify you) instead of just being a gap you find later.

love how it redraws in place instead of spamming your scrollback. that kind of restraint is rare in cli tools and makes it feel surprisingly polished for something weighing in at 2 MB.
