EdgeBar turns your MacBook trackpad edges into smooth volume and brightness controls, with haptic feedback. Slide the right edge for volume and the left for brightness, with the same on-screen display as the keyboard keys and a light haptic tick as you go. Double-tap the top-right corner to mute, swipe the bottom edge to skip tracks. Lives in the menu bar, uses almost no CPU. $9 once, with lifetime updates.

I love the haptic feedback touch aspect. Definitely something I could see myself using daily!

Power user we dream haha Wondering if there’s a touchscreen mac version of this!

trackpad edge for brightness is such an obvious idea once you see it, why is this not built in

Loved the video (and the product too). I hope you have more sales from PH than your Reddit posts. :)

Can the edges do different things per app - like volume everywhere but track skip only in Music - or is it one global mapping?

If I'm two-finger scrolling near the right edge, how do you tell that from a volume swipe—or do I need a modifier?

Super useful and very well designed. I'm dependent on it and also loved how fast the improvements got shipped

Hey Product Hunt - Shashank here, I made EdgeBar.

My finger is on the trackpad most of the day, and while I can change volume or brightness by reaching for the keys - I didn't want to. Plus haptic feedback when using the trackpad is very cool. So now, with EdgeBar, the edges of your trackpad do this:

  • right edge slides volume, left edge slides brightness

  • double-tap the top-right corner to mute

  • swipe the bottom edge to skip tracks

  • a light haptic tick as you slide, and the same on-screen display as the keyboard keys

500+ people have bought it in under a week, mostly from Reddit and Twitter - and most of what shipped in v1.6 to v1.10 came straight from their feedback.

$9 for a lifetime license, no subscription. Would love to know what else you'd want on the edges.
