Eclipsis
Social media, minus the parts built to keep you scrolling
Eclipsis makes social feeds less addictive without blocking the apps. It removes YouTube Shorts, recommendation shelves and autoplay, and Pro paces new posts so the feed runs out. Free for Chrome and Firefox; iPhone app with Parent Mode.
Hey Product Hunt! I'm David, and I made Eclipsis.
Every screen-time app I tried treated the app as the problem. Block Instagram for a day and it comes back the next, exactly as sticky as before. What actually got me was the feed: the Shorts shelf, the autoplay, the next post loading before I had decided to keep going.
So Eclipsis changes what is inside the feed instead:
Removes YouTube Shorts, recommendation shelves, autoplay and open-in-app nags (free)
Paces new posts so each takes a little longer to arrive, until the feed runs out (Pro)
Hides chosen apps from your Home Screen until a daily window you pick (free)
Parent Mode for a kid's phone: a passphrase only you know, a pace dial, outright blocks (Pro)
It covers YouTube, Reddit, Instagram, X, Threads, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok. The Chrome and Firefox extensions are free and need no account. The iPhone app is free to start; Pro is $3.99 a month. No ads, no analytics, and nothing about what you watch leaves your device.
Which feed gets you the most? And what should it handle next? I'm here all day for questions.
