EARS
Map your musical DNA from 5 tracks that rewired you
Most music apps ask what you like. ears asks what changed you. Drop 5 songs that rewired you. Get back: → Your archetype (Sonic Archaeologist, Velvet Drifter, Harmonic Architect... → Your mode (Dorian, Lydian, Mixolydian...) → Your era + influence chain → 12-track Listening Room matched to your harmonic signature → Sonic Neighbors — listeners wired exactly like you Not collaborative filtering. Not "similar artists." Your actual ear.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built EARS because I kept running into the same problem: every music
recommendation system is built on popularity. Spotify's "similar artists" finds the crowd
version of your taste. Last.fm finds what people who listen to what you listen to also
listen to. None of it asks the real question — what actually wired you this way?
ears starts there.
You drop 5 songs. Not your favorites. Not your most played. The ones that
shifted something — the tracks that rewired how you hear everything after them. From
those 5, ears maps your harmonic signature and gives you back:
→ Your archetype — Sonic Archaeologist, Harmonic Architect, Velvet Drifter, and others.
A structural identity, not a vibe.
→ Your mode — the harmonic language your ear gravitates toward. Dorian,
Lydian, Mixolydian. The actual theory underneath your taste.
→ Your era — the sonic period you're wired to, regardless of when you were
born.
→ Your influence chain — the lineage your taste descends from. Eno → Byrne →
Ariel Pink.
→ Your Listening Room — 12 tracks precision-matched to your harmonic
signature.
Every track tagged: Strong Match, Deep Cut, or Edge Case.
→ Your Sonic Neighbors — other listeners wired exactly like you. 92%
compatible.
89%. 85%. Same mode, same era, same chain.
This isn't collaborative filtering. It's harmonic pattern recognition. The
difference matters: collaborative filtering finds the popular version of your taste. EARS
finds the structural version — what your ear is actually built from.
I built this solo. Launched today. Would genuinely love to know what archetype
you get and whether the influence chain feels accurate to you. That's the part I'm
most curious about — whether the lineage ears traces actually resonates with how people hear their own taste.

Who hunted EARS?
EARS was hunted by ears. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
