Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the maker of dwindl.it.
I got tired of the boring, corporate, and overly-complex URL shorteners out there. I wanted something that felt fun, nostalgic (hello 90s vaporwave aesthetic), but packed a serious punch under the hood.
I built Dwindl.it as a decoupled micro-service. Here is the cool part: The backend API is already fully loaded (it supports password-protected links, 10s previews, bot-interstitials, and ultra-customizable QR codes with gradients/logos/texts).
However, for this public launch, I kept the UI super minimal.
Right now, the public frontend only exposes the core features (shortening, basic QR generation, and the anti-abuse reporting system). I am currently figuring out the best way to integrate all the advanced API features ergonomically into the single-page UI without ruining the clean, retro vibe.
They will be rolled out gradually based on your feedback. I’d absolutely love to hear your thoughts: how would you fit complex settings into a simple single-page design? Roast my UI or praise the 90s vibes—let me know what you think! 👇
