Every time my iPhone said "Storage Almost Full", I went looking for a cleaner, and kept finding the same thing: a scary warning, a trial that turns into a weekly charge, and sometimes a request to upload my library to someone's server. For a tool most people use a few times a year, that felt backwards.
So DustFox works the other way round:
• Everything happens on the device. Scans, similarity checks and video compression run on your iPhone. No account, no uploads, no analytics. It works in airplane mode.
• Tell it how much space you need. Say "I need 5 GB" and it builds the plan with the least regret: exact copies and burst extras first, lossless conversions last. One iOS confirmation for everything.
• Ten methods. Duplicate and similar photos (DCT fingerprints; the keeper is chosen by sharpness, exposure, resolution and size), Shrink Videos (HEVC re-encode, same resolution and frame rate), Live Photos, Compressible Photos, blurry shots, screenshots, images received from WhatsApp and Telegram, large videos and photos, and Swipe to Clean.
• Honest about deleting. Everything goes to Recently Deleted for 30 days, and the app tells you that space only comes back once that album is emptied.
