I'm the developer of DuoVault. I built it because the photos of me and my partner lived in five chat apps and one cloud we didn't control, and there was no "our album" anywhere.
DuoVault is a photo & video vault for exactly two people. Two things make it different:
1. It starts private.
No account, no sign-up. You set a 6-digit code, and that code becomes your encryption key. Face ID opens it, and it re-locks the moment you leave the app. You can use it alone for as long as you like.
2. One invite code turns it into a shared vault.
When you're ready, you pair with your partner by a 6-digit invite code. From then on, whatever you add shows up on their phone, with a shared timeline (who added what, when) and an activity log (who opened what, auto-deleted after 90 days).
The part I care most about: everything is encrypted on your phone before it syncs. The server only ever stores ciphertext, and the key never leaves your two devices. We can't see your photos. That's not a policy, it's how it's built.
Free to start (last 21 days, videos up to 30s). Premium removes both limits, and if one partner subscribes, it unlocks for both of you.
Honest limitations:
• iPhone only for now, and both partners need one. It's the #1 request and I'd love to hear if you'd use it on Android.
• Lose your 6 digits and nobody can recover it, including us. That's the trade for having no back door.
