Pane layout, page, and scroll position are saved automatically.
Acrobat still does not do independent vertical split of the same file. Split is synced. Window > New Window is two windows.
I built duo·reader for that job: one long PDF, two places far apart, side by side, each pane stays put. Read the clause. Keep the definition. Don’t lose your place.
