Run any NBA matchup — tonight's game, a 1998 replay, or two eras that never met — through a possession-level Monte Carlo engine with your insights. Win probabilities, projected scores, player projections. Accuracy measured on 1,230 real games and published. Web, iOS, Android.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm J.G., and I built DunkSim.
The problem: every NBA fan has a read on tonight's game. Maybe a star is playing through an injury, a matchup favors one side, or the pace is going to be fast. But most prediction tools just hand you one number and leave no room for your own insight. You can argue with your friends, but you can't test your theory.
DunkSim lets you test it. Pick any game, adjust what you know (team offense, defense and pace, any player's scoring, playmaking, defense or usage, or sit someone out), and the engine plays the game possession by possession thousands of times. You see how much your insight moves the win probability, the projected score and every player's line.
Then the fun part: save your call as a prediction, share it, and compete with friends in private Friend Circles and on leaderboards. There's also a Daily Challenge where you try to match the real result of a classic game.
I wanted the engine underneath to be honest too. We replayed all 1,230 games of last season and published the result: 69.3% correct winners, against 67.0% for simply choosing the better record. It's all on dunksim.app/accuracy.
It's free on the web, iOS and Android. It's a game for fans, with no wagering of any kind.
I'll be here all day. What's the first game you'd simulate, and what would you change?

Who hunted DunkSim?
DunkSim was hunted by Gang Ji. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
