Hello everyone! After over a year of building Dub.co, we're very excited to finally launch on Product Hunt 🚀 Back in 2022, I built Dub as a side project to easily share links on social platforms (X, LinkedIn, and iMessage) with beautiful Open Graph images to improve click-through rates. The product was fully open-source and quickly gained a lot of traction – it reached #1 on Hacker News and was trending on GitHub for a little while (currently at 15.4K stars). Since then, Dub continued to grow – mostly through word of mouth, without spending a cent on paid marketing. However, there was one platform we never got around to launching Dub on – Product Hunt. Well, today, that changes. We're stoked to finally unveil Dub to the Product Hunt community 😸 Here are some of our top features: ◆ World-class analytics (breakdown on country, city, device, OS, browser, top links, etc.) ◆ Powerful API & SDKs (import Dub from "dub") ◆ Advanced link features (custom OG images, password-protected links, geo/device-targeting, etc.) ◆ Customizable QR codes (+ programmatic QR code generation) Best part: Dub is fully open-source + privacy friendly → d.to/github We've put a lot of thought & care into building Dub, and we really hope you like the product! Let us know if you have any feedback – thank you for your support 💪

This is awesome, @steventey – I've been looking to make the switch from an OG link shortener and Dub is 100% where I am moving to. Congrats on this and I hope you can celebrate hitting #1 this weekend!

Looks really good! I especially love the self-hosting option. But I like to only buy servers and not SaaS. Would you be willing to provide a linux only self-hosting guide? https://dub.co/docs/self-hosting

@steventey I've been using Dub.co for nearly a year now, after experimenting with several other products, and it's been excellent. The UI is simple and clean, free from distractions, and I'm particularly fond of the analytics it offers.

Dub.co, a link management infrastructure for marketing teams, is akin to an open-source Bitly successor. It offers enhanced features, generous limits, and a delightful user experience within the window. Never seen or heard of this wonderful product and noticed it today for the first time on Product Hunt. I will definitely use it for future work after Google URL shortener goo.gl, which they closed down a few years back. Good going

Congrats Steven and the entire team on the successful launch. We support your launch 🙌😊. What a journey you have made over 2 years. Btw, we launched Chaturji this week.I think there could be some synergies there. Please stop by and give us your support or feedback :)

Congrats on the launch. Definitely going to be using this as my go to for short links

The best short link tool I've ever used, and it's open source. I love open source, and although it's not easy to deploy Dub myself, at least I can do it. For most people, I prefer to use officially deployed services. For short link services, stable redirection is more important than anything else.

Awesome work and such an inspiring journey 🚀 Fan of this product both as a personal and business user 🙌

Not only do I use Dub for my personal YouTube and blog links, but Steve is a friend who’s helped me get to know the platform and talked about his journey! A great product and a great friend, 10/10 recommend.
