As someone who lives in China and is learning Chinese, I often found myself struggling to find a simple way to just open a text and start reading, with some light assistance for characters or words I didn't understand.
Finding a free tool without a paywall, ads, or other friction was always hit and miss. So I decided to harness AI as a simple reading companion and build a reader specifically designed for that use case.
