drm-cli brings CI/CD-style release management to databases. One tool covers MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle, with mandatory dry-run previews so you see the exact deployment script before it touches anything, AES-encrypted credentials, and parallel deployments across multiple targets. Free and self-hosted, with an MCP server and AI agent for teams working with Claude Code. Built by two DBAs with 25+ years combined experience fixing this exact problem.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
Eli and I are both DBAs — 25+ years combined — and we built drm-cli after watching the same failure happen over and over: a database deployment script tests clean in staging, then breaks something in production because nothing showed us the actual script that was about to run.
What it does:
- Mandatory dry-run — generates the real deployment script before executing anything
- One CLI for MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle instead of separate per-platform tools
- AES-encrypted credentials, no plaintext secrets in CI config
- Parallel deploys across multiple target databases
- Free, open source, install via npm or pip in one command
It's not a replacement for Liquibase/Flyway — it layers on top (or runs standalone) to add the release tracking and dry-run discipline we felt was missing everywhere else.
Would love feedback, especially from anyone managing multi-platform database environments — that's exactly who we built this for.
