I built DriveVault for myself. Years of having a desk covered in external hard drives from client work and personal projects was slowing me down. Finding a single file meant plugging in drive after drive and digging around. It felt like a completely unsolved problem. DriveVault fixes that. You scan a drive once, and from then on you can browse, search, and preview everything instantly, even when the drive is unplugged. What makes it different is the experience. Most tools in this space feel like spreadsheets and just don't work in the same way a creative brain does, and generally speaking, it is creative people (filmmakers, photographers, graphic designers etc) that are using lots of hard drives! DriveVault is designed to feel like a native macOS desktop app; fast, visual, and actually enjoyable to use, with some really cool power features that I know people will find useful. We had 300+ beta users help shape it last year and have been ironing out a lot of the bugs with them ever since. I feel like it is finally in a place to share with the world, today. It is built with privacy first, everything is stored locally; no cloud, no tracking, no connecting to the internet, and also no subscriptions. Maybe you're a filmmaker or photographer and have a small hoard of drives; how are you answering this problem? Or had you considered that there even was an answer to this? I hope DriveVault makes your life easier, and you never lose a file again. I'd love to get the Product Hunt community started with free Starter Tier access (5 Drives): https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ct... Hopefully the link works (mac app store discounts are soooo janky), if it doesn't work, drop a comment and I can share a unique code :)

Who hunted DriveVault?

DriveVault was hunted by DriveVault. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
