I built DownloadReels because I kept running into the same problem myself — wanting to save an Instagram Reel to watch offline or repost later, and every "downloader" site online was either full of ads, asked for sign-up, or added watermarks.
So I built a simple, free tool that does one thing well: paste a link, get your video/reel in HD, no login, no watermark.
The biggest challenge while building this was keeping it fast and reliable as Instagram's link structure keeps changing — so a good chunk of the process was just making sure it stays working smoothly for everyone.
