Doudou: Baby Tracker for Two
Baby tracker for tired parents. Feeds, diapers, sleep. Done.
Baby tracker stripped to what actually matters: feedings, diapers, sleep. Three cards. One screen. One tap. Built by a sleep-deprived dad who couldn't remember the last feeding at 3 AM. Dark purple theme because bright screens wake babies. Family sync so both parents see the same data. One-handed use with large tap targets — because your other hand is holding a baby. Always.
Hey PH — I'm Radhan, solo indie dev and dad of two. Built this because of a 3 AM moment of frustration.
What happened
My son had just finished feeding. My wife asked: "when was the last one?" I had no idea. I grabbed my phone, opened a baby tracker app, and spent 45 seconds navigating menus while my newborn cried. By the time I found the log button, I'd forgotten what I was looking for.
The next morning (well, a few hours later — sleep is a myth), I started building Doudou.
Why existing trackers fail
Most baby tracker apps are bloated. They want to track everything — mood, milestones, vaccinations, growth charts, photo journals, doctor visits. By the time you find "log a feeding," your baby is already screaming again.
New parents don't need a dashboard. They need three answers:
When was the last feeding? (and which breast?)
When was the last diaper?
How long did the baby sleep?
That's it. That's Doudou.
How it works
One screen. Three cards. Tap to log.
Feedings — breast (left/right), bottle, or solid. Timer or manual entry.
Diapers — wet, dirty, or both. One tap.
Sleep — start/stop timer. Daily total. Pattern tracking.
Family Sync — both parents see the same data. Log a feed at 3 AM, your partner sees it when they wake up. No more "did you feed her?" texts.
Design decisions that matter
The dark purple theme isn't aesthetic — it's functional. You're using this at 2 AM in a dark room with a baby on your chest. White screens wake babies. I learned that the hard way.
Large tap targets. One-handed use. No scrolling to find the action. Everything is visible and tappable from the home screen.
The name
"Doudou" is French for a child's comfort object — a blanket, a stuffed animal, the thing that makes everything feel safe. That's what this app is meant to be for parents: a small reliable thing in the chaos.
Personal context
My second son arrived a few weeks ago. My wife is breastfeeding and needed to track which breast was last — that's literally why the left/right toggle exists. We use Doudou daily, day and night, and every friction point becomes a feature fix within hours. There's no better user research than needing your own product at 4 AM.
React Native + Expo. 11 languages. No backend complexity except Family Sync. Everything else runs locally.
Free with ads. Premium removes ads + extended history.
If you're a new parent or expecting — I'd love your feedback. And if you're not, send this to a friend who is. They need it more than they know.
