Goodbye, localhost:3000. Hello, your-project.localhost. Doorman is an open-source macOS app and CLI that gives local dev servers stable HTTPS names. Manage routes and custom domains, inspect requests, status codes and latency, and share an app through Cloudflare or ngrok tunnels—all from one desktop workspace.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
Meet Doorman: friendly names for your local apps.
When you have several dev servers running, remembering which localhost port belongs to which project gets old fast. Doorman gives each app a stable address like https://your-project.localhost and brings your local workspace into one macOS app.
Here’s what you can do:
• Start a project with the doorman CLI and get a named HTTPS URL.
• Manage routes, custom domains, and apps running across Git worktrees.
• Inspect request paths, status codes, and latency in real time.
• Share a local app using an installed Cloudflare or ngrok client, with tunnel controls and logs in the desktop app.
Traffic inspection keeps request metadata in memory; it doesn’t capture headers, cookies, or bodies. Public tunnels are opt-in.
Doorman is open source and available for macOS. Try it at getdoorman.dev.
What’s the most frustrating part of managing your local development setup? I’d love to hear what would make Doorman more useful to you.

Who hunted Doorman?
Doorman was hunted by Bruno Kiafuka. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
