I built DocuCommit because I got tired of docs tools that lock your content in a database, cap revision history at 30 days, then hand you a lossy export on the way out.
DocuCommit works the other way round. The source of truth is a Git repo full of plain Markdown files that you own. Every save is an ordinary commit. You edit in a desktop app with WYSIWYG Markdown, draw.io and Mermaid diagrams, wiki links, comments and full-text search, and a read-only Docker server renders the same repo for everyone else.
There's a second reason it matters now. Because the docs are plain Markdown sitting in Git, any LLM or agent can already read them. No API, no export step in the way.
