Hello Product Hunt community! 👋 Today I'm relaunching DocDecoder after 9 months of development! DocDecoder reads privacy policies, terms of service, etc. so you don't have to 🤯 It uses GPT-4o to generate clear, legalese-free summaries of any website's legal policies, on the fly. It tells you exactly what you're agreeing to and even color-codes the negative, neutral, and positive clauses 🔴⚫🟢 You can preview summaries by searching for any website on this page. Try it out – it's free, and I believe it can make a real difference in how you interact with website policies. Thank you for checking it out! Josh

I've wanted something like this for a while! Thanks for building it. Looking at the examples for Uber the list does seem long, I wonder if there's a way to separate out some key ones like selling data etc. I like the things to watch out for section that or a summary or the predicted FAQs could be good at the start vs. the long summary list. Would love to chat with you more about it if you need customer interviews or thought partners. Just installed this today and will try it out some more.

Great launch! DocDecoder’s ability to generate concise summaries and color code information is exactly what we need its going to save a lot time and confusion

This is such a clever tool the ability to bypass dense legalese and get straight to the key points will defiantly make navigating websites policies much easier

This tool is amazing just curious will be there be any updates that allow users to save or expert the summaries for future reference?

I recommend this app to anyone who is tired of long and complicated texts of legal terms and privacy policies on websites. DocDecoder provides simple and easy-to-understand summaries of all legal documents, generated in real time using GPT-4o.

DocDecoder 2 is impressive! The ability to extract and decode data from documents efficiently could save time. Does it work well with documents that have tricky layouts, like mixed text and images or detailed tables?

Looks like a perfect idea!! So long to read these terms, but they're extremely necessary to know, and this one seems to solve the issue:) Will try and review it.

I love how it streamlines document management and enhances productivity. How does it handle complex formatting or large files? Do you have any tips on getting the most out of its features?

It would be great to help me read and give specific color warnings, and it would be nice if you could give me some specific advice on how to implement them at the same time

Yo this is what I need before giving away my first child for free legally. Congrats on the launch @joshwallerr !

Congrats on the launch, @joshwallerr! This is a real lifesaver for people like me, and I love that it’s a Chrome extension. Does DocDecoder work with documents in any language? And are there any plans for localization?

Real-time summaries of website policies with clarity and conciseness? Count me in!

I noticed that the free version only allows 2 new summaries per month. It would be helpful if there were a more generous option or a way to earn more summaries without having to go premium.

I appreciate how this tool highlights harmful terms and makes legal documents more accessible. However, it would be even better if there were an option to get a summary of policies not just from websites, but from documents I upload as well.

I love that this extension breaks down complicated legalese into easy-to-understand summaries. It’s something I’ve been needing for a while.

The idea of decoding legal policies with AI is innovative. I’m curious about, though does the extension work well with all types of policies, even those from smaller websites?
