Divvy helps groups split any food bill based on what each person had. Scan the receipt, assign the items, and it works out shared dishes, uneven portions, tax, tip, and service charges. It also checks the numbers against the final total and produces a clear breakdown to share. No account or download required.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Nikhil, and this is my first launch here - so go easy on me!
I built Divvy after a team dinner where I ended up in charge of the bill. Partly because I knew what everyone had ordered, mostly because I'd paid. From there you get two bad options: split it evenly, which is only fair if everyone ate the same thing (nobody ever does), or go around the table asking who had what and reconcile it in a spreadsheet afterwards.
It's not a novel idea — bill splitting apps exist. But every one of them expects all eight people at the table to install something and make an account. Or in my case, fifteen. That has never once happened in the history of dinner.
So, Divvy. Take a photo of the bill, it pulls out the line items, you tag who had what, and send a clean receipt to the group chat. Nobody else at the table has to install anything.
No accounts, no server-side history. Bills, people and splits live in your browser's localStorage — clear your browser and they're gone. That's deliberate. I don't think a bill splitter needs a permanent record of your Tuesday dinner.
Would love any and every piece of feedback you have and thank you checking out Divvy!
And, for the next food bill you come across — just Divvy it!
finally something that handles tax and tip properly on shared dishes, that part usually breaks in other apps. the receipt scan was accurate enough that i only had to fix a couple of items.
