Diskscape draws your whole disk as one treemap. The biggest folder is the biggest box, so whatever is eating your space is the first thing you see. It scans about 200,000 files a second, lists node_modules, Xcode DerivedData, simulator caches and old large files under Worth a look, and its sizes match Finder, with no double-counted APFS volumes. Native Swift, sandboxed, nothing leaves your Mac. Free to scan; Move to Trash is a subscription after 7 days of use.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Serdar, and I built Diskscape because my Mac kept running out of space and I wanted to see why in one look.
Two things surprised me while building it. My first version said my 494 GB disk held 743 GB, because on APFS every user folder can be reached twice, once through a firmlink and once through the data volume. Diskscape now counts each folder once, so the total matches Finder. And the first scan of my Library hung for twelve minutes on a Google Drive folder that never answers. Cloud folders are now labelled and left out.
For developers there is a Worth a look list: node_modules, DerivedData, iOS DeviceSupport and old simulators, grouped and totalled, which is usually where the missing 50 GB went.
Scanning and browsing are free for good. The first seven days you use it, everything is unlocked. I'd love to hear what it finds on your disk, and anything that looks wrong.
