Hi Product Hunt
I’m Lars, the founder and solo builder of CaptureTheLink.
The project originally started as a playful experiment where users could “steal” links from each other. It was fun to build, but it never became genuinely useful.
I still loved the name, so I kept it and rebuilt everything else.
CaptureTheLink is now a community-curated place for discovering and sharing useful links. Members can create a free profile, submit links, vote, comment and progress through community levels based on their contributions.
One challenge I wanted to solve was preventing old links with thousands of historical votes from permanently owning the front page. The Hot ranking therefore considers both votes and age, giving new discoveries a fair chance to surface.
I also created Community Verified. A link can earn this badge after being live for at least 48 hours, maintaining a positive score and receiving qualifying votes from established Curators or Editors. Verification can be reversed, and trusted members can flag suspicious links for moderation.
There is an optional paid Link Legend level with an extended profile, but paying does not provide additional voting power or influence over verification.
