Twenty-five years in packaging. Mostly structural design and prepress, and a
lot of afternoons lost to the same stupid task: take a template that's almost
right, redraw the whole thing for the new size. Glue tabs, bleed, crease lines,
safe area. Nothing difficult about it. It just eats time.
I stopped waiting for someone to make the tool I wanted and built it. It's not
a library of templates you stretch — you pick a structure, type the
dimensions, and it draws that box.
I've been using it on real orders for about two months now. When a client asks
for 240 x 160 x 90, I type three numbers and I'm done. I keep adding
structures; there are 21 today, and the list of ones people ask for is longer
than the list of ones I've built.
Free. No account to download. The account is only for keeping your dielines and
sending the printer a link that opens without them registering — which, if your
print shop is three guys and a kettle, is the difference between a job and a
week of emails.
If you try it: pick a structure you actually use and tell me where my numbers
are off for your supplier. Die sizes differ a few millimetres between makers,
and that's the part I can't guess from here.
