Diagnosica is a clinical simulator that runs a whole case, not a question about one. You take the history from a video patient by voice or text, order labs and view real imaging, commit to a diagnosis and management plan, then get a scorecard on four safety-weighted competencies. Question banks test recall of a case someone else worked up. Mannequin sim needs a room, a booking and a faculty slot. This is the reasoning in between. 45 cases, 12 specialties, doctor-reviewed. One free, no signup.

Hi Product Hunt. Mostafa here, one of two people behind this. I am an engineer, not a doctor. My co-founder Youssef is the clinician, and he writes and signs off every case in here. The reason we built it is something he described to me about a year ago: the gap between knowing medicine and doing medicine. You can score well on a question bank and still freeze the first time a real person is in front of you saying something vague at 3am, because a question bank has already done the hard part for you. It worked the patient up, then asked you to pick from five options. Simulation centres close that gap properly, but they cost a room, a booking and a faculty member's afternoon, so most people get a handful of them in a whole degree. So we built the middle: a full case you can run on your own, tonight. Talk to the patient or type, order the bloods and the scans, read the actual image, commit to a diagnosis with nothing narrowed down for you, write the plan, get marked. What is genuinely still rough, since you will find it anyway: - The scorer is in beta and labelled as formative. It is an examiner-grade rubric across four safety-weighted competencies, but it has not been validated against a panel of clinicians yet. That work is next. Treat the number as a prompt to think, not a verdict. - The patient is on video and speaks, but the video is a generic loop. The mouth is not synced to the words. We would rather say that than let you discover it. - 45 cases sounds like a lot until you find the specialty you work in and there are three. The library grows weekly. For Product Hunt: 50% off the first 3 months with the code PRODUCTHUNT. You do not need it to try the product, though. The first case is free and needs no account, so please just run one before you decide anything. What I would most like back: tell me where the patient stopped feeling like a patient. That is the thing we cannot see from analytics, and it is the thing that decides whether any of this is worth doing.

Comment highlights

Honestly the voice patient thing is pretty cool and the scorecard makes it feel real, but one thing that would honestly help is a quick debrief after the case explaining why the wrong answer was wrong, kind of like a short teaching point at the end, otherwise you score badly and just move on without really learning what you missed.
