Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Jonathan, solo founder of DevCam.
Three years ago I got tired of bloated Electron screen recorders eating RAM and demanding I sign up before I could hit record. So I started building the recorder I actually wanted: native, fast, no account, gets out of your way.
DevCam 1.0 is the result. Fully native macOS, built in SwiftUI + AppKit, lives in your menu bar, ships through the Mac App Store.
Free tier
- 15-minute recordings
- Single display
- No account required
Pro ($4.99/mo or $49.99/yr)
- Recordings up to 1 hour
- Multi-format export
- Multi-display capture
Happy to answer anything. Architecture questions, why it took three years, what's on the roadmap. Feedback very welcome.

Who hunted DevCam?
DevCam was hunted by Jonathan Dumitru. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
