Hey Product Hunt, so excited to launch & open-source 15 new dev tools! It's wild – the online utils devs use every day are cluttered with ads. So, we made an ad-free, open source, light & simple alternative. This all started at a team dinner –– thanks to the amazing idea by @preston_pham to build our own set of tools with a better dev experience than the tools we were all using every day. They could be client-side + fast, ad-free + uncluttered, and we could open-source them too. Since that dinner, any time we needed a util we’d just add it to our stack. So far we’re at 15 tools! (and we’ve already got our first community contribution, thanks @cassidoo for an awesome .env to netlify.toml converter!) So excited to open source it and share with you today! 😃 Check it out at jam.dev/utilities or view the source at github.com/jamdotdev/jam-dev-utilities. Which tool do you want to see added next?

Hey now, this is cool - the folks jam.dev just keep on giving. Funny, this has gotten more urgent now that chrome is stopping ad blockers. Appreciate the contribution to the community. Stand by from some from us @korl as well - soon!

Congrats on the launch, @thedanigrant! I'm curious about the performance of these utilities, especially for larger datasets. Have you tested any stress scenarios yet?

What unique tool do you find most useful in your daily development work? Any surprises or hidden gems?

Having all these essential tools in one place can really streamline the workflow. Which feature do you find most useful in your day-to-day development? Best of luck team!

So, no offense, but do we really need more dev tools cluttering up our lives, I get it, ads are annoying as hell but is that enough to make this worth it, maybe think about better integration with existing tools or adding more features that actually solve everyday problems not just another data converter, what about support for different data formats or maybe some real-time collaboration functionalities as devs often work in teams

So another set of dev tools huh, while ad-free sounds good, wonder if they truly match up to the crowded market of existing opensource tools everyone already depends on, curious if anyone tried them yet, do they really deliver that speed and simplicity

Hehe Dani, you made smile with 'who don’t like ads' cause it's true. As a current dev I hate them and appreciate your help on this. Making this easier and more confortable. Wish you all the best here! Cheers

Dev Utils looks really promising! I love that it's open-source and ad-free—it's about time we had lightweight tools that respect our privacy. The cmd+k search feature is a sleek touch that can save time when navigating through utilities. Plus, the fact that any needed tool can just get added to the stack shows a great focus on user needs. I'm excited to see what tools get added next! It’s great to have a resource that’s simple and fast without the clutter we’re used to. Kudos to Dani and the team for putting this together! Can't wait to try it out!

The simplicity and speed of these open-source utilities make them a joy to use. Kudos to the team for prioritizing user experience and privacy!

Dev Utils is such a breath of fresh air in a sea of ad-laden tools! The focus on lightweight utilities for data conversion is perfect for developers who prioritize simplicity and speed. I love that it's all client-side, keeping my data private—definitely a win in today’s online world. The cmd+k search feature sounds super handy, making it easy to find the tools you need without fumbling around. Plus, I appreciate that this is open-source; it not only allows for community contributions but also sets a new standard for dev tools with an uncluttered experience. I’m curious to see which tools will be added next! A Markdown to HTML converter could be useful. Great job on this initiative; it's exciting to see innovation that truly focuses on enhancing the developer experience!

It's great to see such an impressive initiative from @thedanigrant and the team! The focus on creating an ad-free, client-side experience is refreshing—too many tools are bogged down with clutter. I’m curious about what specific challenges you faced while building these utilities. Also, could you share more about what "cmd+k search" functionality entails? It

I’m impressed by how straightforward these tools are. They save me so much time on everyday tasks like formatting JSON or converting images.

These tools make handling data so much simpler. Whether it's converting JSON to CSV or encoding URLs, everything works smoothly and efficiently.

I’ve been using these utilities for a while now, and they’re amazing. Fast, easy to use, and totally free—exactly what I need for quick conversions and debugging.

This is such a welcome change finally , tools that are clean, fast, and respect privacy. The cmd+k search is a nice touch that shows you really understand what developers need. Excited to dive in and explore!

This is exactly what I’ve been needing simple, fast, and private tools that get the job done without any fuss. The CSV to JSON converter works like a charm.
