We organized our first DEV Challenge back in March, and are solidifying our commitment to bringing more challenges to the community with today's product hunt launch! DEV Challenges are mini-hackathons that come in many different forms -- some are simple writing prompts, some flex your creativity and encourage you to show off your personality, and some are full fledged apps with complex requirements. Example domain areas include artificial intelligence, frontend development, computer science, API integrations, and more! Most challenges run for just under two weeks but we'll occasionally offer a longer timeline when there is more at stake. Right now, we're in the middle of the Build Better on Stellar: Smart Contract Challenge that's all about helping web developers get into web3, blockchain, and decentralized finance. It's a great learning opportunity with equally great rewards -- a $50,000 cash prize pool and a trip to London to be exact. We also launched the Nylas AI and Communications Challenge yesterday that has a big emphasis on creativity and $3,000 prize pool. Please check them both out! Our main goal for DEV Challenges is for participants to walk away with new knowledge, and hopefully, a statement piece to add to their professional profile (be it on DEV on otherwise). Of course, there is also oftentimes the opportunity to win cash prizes too (like in the Stellar Challenge). If you've participated in a DEV Challenge before, we'd love to hear your thoughts -- especially if there are new domains and tools you'd like to build with or write about. Please let us know how we can improve the challenge experience! Thank you to everyone who checked out our launch today.

Thank you. You helped me a lot to bootstrap my Lama Bot (https://t.me/compassion_lama_bot) as quick as possible. The Challenge gave me sence of urgency and energy to do it in 3 days. Otherwise it'll be developed for months.
I like the opportunity that is given to everyone regardless of background and experience, to showcase skills. I like the creative freedom a lot and it's great for learning. I will be participating again!
Congratulations, DEV! This is great for people who want to hone their coding skills.
Exciting to see new DEV Challenges rolling out ! how are the challenges curated to balance learning opportunities with competitive elements?
The concept of earning bragging rights and rewards while proving your skills is brilliant. Excited to see how this could change the game for developers.
This platform looks like a great mix of competition and learning. The badges and rewards are a nice touch to keep motivation high.
Adding a feature for feedback or mentoring from challenge winners could be really valuable. It would be great to learn from those who have excelled.
I’d love to see a way to filter challenges based on skill level or specific interests. It could help users find challenges that match their expertise and goals.
It would be great to see challenges that focus on collaboration, where participants can team up and work together on projects
I’ve just checked out these challenges, and they’re a fantastic way to stay engaged with the latest tech trends. The variety and depth of each challenge are impressive
What a great way to get new and experienced coders together in one community to work on coding projects! Hackathons can often feel quite daunting, so I love that you're focused on 'mini' hackathons, as well as offering various domains to contribute towards (i.e. creativity & prompt engineering, not only fully-fledged coding) 😍 Congrats on the launch!! 🚀
Great job with the platform! It would be fun to see some team-based challenges or competitions added soon. Keep up the good work!
Dev challenges are just amazing, they help us building new skills and implementing our existing knowledge
The completion badges are a nice touch for motivation. Here's a question do you have Any plans to add more domains in the future?
these challenges are a great way to certify your skills and earn some cool badges. Winners get cash too. Everyone gets a completion badge, so it’s definitely worth joining.
Hello! the idea of earning badges while showing off skills is fantastic. Excited to try out the challenges and maybe snag a few prizes! 😄

DEV Challenges was hunted by Jess Lee. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
