I built DeskZen because my Mac desktop kept turning into a graveyard of screenshots, downloads, and random files. I didn’t want another heavy “cleaner” with dozens of toggles — I just wanted one click to make it clean again.
DeskZen lives in the menu bar. One click archives desktop files into smart folders (images, documents, installers), leaves folders alone, and you can undo anytime with ⌘⇧Z. There’s a 7-day free trial, then $9.99 lifetime.
While building it, I kept cutting features. The goal stayed the same: the fastest path from “messy desktop” to “clear again,” without babysitting rules.
