Deskpat
Spanned wallpapers & live telemetry HUD right from your CLI
Deskpat (पट) is a modular, spanned multi-monitor wallpaper generator and developer dashboard. Native on Windows (macOS/Linux coming soon), it maps coordinate math across displays with custom scaling to compile a single spanned background. Renders templates in HTML/CSS via Puppeteer, logs system telemetry (RAM, IP, Uptime), and includes a terminal checklist manager. Add custom script fetchers (Python, JS, PowerShell) and HTML styles. Open-source & extensible.
As developers, many of us run mixed multi-monitor setups (different resolutions, aspects, and display scaling). Standard stretched wallpapers always looked misaligned, and keeping extra widgets open just to track active checklists or system stats was cluttering my screen.
I built Deskpat to solve this. The name comes from the Hindi word पट (Pat), meaning screen or canvas.
Instead of stretching flat images, Deskpat queries system display APIs, calculates monitor coordinates, and compiles a clean, spanned background using Puppeteer (HTML/CSS) to render live, beautiful dashboards.
Why it's unique:
📐 Spanning Math: Stitches wallpapers seamlessly across displays of varying scale. 📊 Built-in Telemetry: Logs IP, RAM usage, and uptime directly on your background. 📋 Terminal Checklist: Run deskpat todo add/done to refresh tasks on the fly. 🔌 Highly Extensible: Write simple @ sensor Python decorators or custom HTML/CSS templates. It is lightweight, Windows-native (with macOS/Linux coming soon), and 100% open-source. I’d love to hear your feedback, setup screenshots, and ideas for new plugins!
