Since moving to Canada, I’ve been surprised by how active the secondhand market is here. Facebook Marketplace is huge, and I’ve used it a lot myself to buy and sell things locally. But the more I used it, the more I noticed the same frustrations everyone seems to complain about:
- People casually send “Is this still available?” and then never reply.
- You clearly write the pickup location, firm price, and details in the listing, but many buyers still don’t read.
- Then comes the back-and-forth around pickup times, low offers, and no-shows.
Everyone complains about it, but there still doesn’t seem to be a better alternative for local selling.

We’re also listening closely to feedback, including requests for a mobile app, which is already in progress.
We’re starting with Canada first, but the bigger vision is to make local selling easier for everyday sellers and small local makers.
One area we’re building toward is helping home-based sellers and small makers sell within their local community without needing to rent a storefront, manage complicated shipping, or invest heavily upfront. With pickup scheduling, buyers can discover local items and book a pickup time directly.
