Built this after buying a used monitor and spending an hour trying to figure out if a speck on my screen was a dead pixel or just dust.
Existing tools required downloading apps or navigating clunky interfaces. I wanted something that works instantly in any browser, on any device – phone, tablet, laptop.
The 4K panel on my ProArt has 8 million pixels. Finding one dead pixel manually is nearly impossible without systematic color cycling. This tool does exactly that: fullscreen solid colors, 30 seconds per check, no friction.
Turns out the "speck" was just dust. But the tool stayed useful – now I test every new display purchase before the return window closes.
