Dead Man's Switch
Your credit card is the heartbeat—no check-ins to forget
Most dead man's switches fail because you forget to check in. Here, your $1/mo card payment is the heartbeat—if it ever stops, your passwords, crypto keys, or final messages reach the people you chose. Free plan: just log in. Encrypted at rest with AES-256.
Hello Product Hunt! 👋
I'm the solo developer behind Dead Man's Switch (https://entrust-this.com).
The idea came from an uncomfortable question: if something happened to
me tomorrow, how would my family ever find my server logins,
subscriptions, and crypto wallet?
I tried existing dead man's switches, but they all relied on me manually
clicking "I'm alive" every week. I'd inevitably forget—or worry about an
accidental trigger while on vacation.
So I built two ways to stay "alive":
• Free — just logging in resets the timer (the classic check-in model).
• Premium ($1/mo) — your recurring card payment IS the heartbeat. As long
as it goes through, you're active. No buttons, no reminders. If payments
ever stop, your pre-set data is released to your chosen contacts.
🛠️ No-signup demo: Experience the core idea right now—no account, no real
data, nothing stored:

The demo uses manual check-ins to show the concept (this is our free plan).
On premium, your card does the checking-in for you.
🔒 Security: All stored data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and
decrypted only at the moment of delivery.
I'd love your feedback on the concept, the trigger model, and the UX.
Thank you for checking it out! 🙏
