Hey Product Hunt! My name is Ryan, and I created Day Base, an app that seeks to be the answer to a long-standing organization need I’ve always had. As someone who enjoys making lists, analyzing data, creating spreadsheets, and practicing general organization, I wanted an app that helps me achieve this that I can use seamlessly across my iOS and Mac devices. It should be more powerful than notes but less clunky than Excel on a mobile device. Additionally, it should allow for healthy compartmentalization of various business and life aspects that require organization. My goal was to bring the power and functionality of databases to a user-friendly interface that doesn’t overwhelm users on an iPhone and is easy to use without any learning curve or barriers to entry. Day Base enables you to create a database for virtually anything you collect or keep track of, such as books, wine, sneakers, home inventory, travel memories, recipes, business inventory, barcodes, photos, plants, clients, and more. You define the schema of each collection and specify each field (text, numbers, dates, yes/no, links, photos, and repeating “groups” for multiple entries). The entire app, including forms, cards, and a sortable table, is built around your schema. Here are a few things I’m particularly proud of: - You can paste a CSV or Excel file, and Day Base will read the header row and automatically create the fields for you. - You can switch between a clean card view with cover images and a sortable table. - Day Base integrates with Siri and Shortcuts, allowing you to add or look up records in advanced workflows or by simply speaking to Siri. - I prioritize user privacy. There’s no account required, so all your data is saved locally. You can also choose to sign in with your private Apple Account, which saves content across your devices to your iCloud. This ensures that no one can access your data without your authorization, and there’s no data sharing. Day Base is free, natively built for iPhone and iPad using SwiftUI, and it’s my first app. I would greatly appreciate your feedback, feature suggestions, and insights into how you plan to use the app. I’ll be available to respond to any questions you may have. Thank you for taking the time to check out Day Base!
