Dawnli
A private mood journal that never leaves your phone
Dawnli is a mood journal that lives entirely on your phone - no cloud, no account, no sign-up. Log how you feel in three taps, spot patterns with on-device insights, and keep your data where it belongs: with you. Free to use, lifetime unlock available.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Dawnli because every mood journal I tried wanted something from me - an account, my email, a cloud sync I didn't ask for. For something as personal as how you're feeling, that felt backwards.
So Dawnli is the opposite. Everything lives on your phone: no account, no sign-up, no cloud, no telemetry. Open the app, tap a mood (1–5), and optionally add tags and a note. Done in three taps.
A few things I tried to get right:
• Private by default - SQLite on-device, optional 6-digit PIN and Face ID, photos never leave your phone
• Actually useful insights - which tags correlate with your best and worst days, what time of day you feel best, year-in-pixels, week-at-a-glance
• Fair pricing - the free tier is genuinely usable (mood logging, 7-day history, charts, streaks). If you want unlimited history and the full insights suite, it's $9.99/year or a $49.99 lifetime unlock. Pay once, done forever.
It's a solo project, and I'd love feedback on three things specifically:
- Is the "no cloud" promise clear in onboarding, or does it sound too good to be true?
- Does the free tier feel fair, or too restrictive?
- Are the insights useful - or gimmicky?
Happy to answer anything in the comments. Thanks for taking a look 🌅
This is refreshing—the privacy-first approach feels genuine, especially for something this personal. On your three questions: the "no cloud" promise reads clearly, but consider emphasizing it visually during onboarding since people are conditioned to expect cloud sync. The free tier hits the right balance—useful enough to prove value without artificial limits. The insights (tag correlations, time-of-day patterns) feel substantive rather than gimmicky because they're actually actionable for understanding your mood triggers.
