Bright pages can be tiring, but one-size-fits-all dark mode often breaks media or double-darkens sites that already support it. I built Darkmode Kit to make page appearance adjustable without making every site feel the same. It combines four practical modes with global defaults, per-site overrides, brightness and intensity controls, and color protection for images, video, canvas, maps, logos, and charts. It runs locally as a Chrome MV3 extension and requires no account. I would love feedback on tricky sites and the modes you use most.
