Edge-native background audio for Expo apps. Lock screen, Bluetooth remotes, real playlists, HLS, native silence tracks, dual-track ambient. Built for Daily Bible. MIT - no license gate, no baggage.
I’m Mark, and I built this for Daily Bible - Offline & Audio (dailybiblenow.com), a Bible app that uses on-device TTS and needs reliable background playback on Expo.
I needed lock screen + Bluetooth remotes, real multi-track playlists, native silence gaps between verses, HLS, and optional ambient under speech without stealing Now Playing. The existing option went commercial, so I built a focused alternative and open-sourced it under MIT.
daily-react-native-player is New Architecture only (Expo SDK 57+ / RN 0.86+).

If you build narration, TTS, podcasts, audiobooks, meditation, or music playlists on Expo, I’d love your feedback.
