👋 Hey Product Hunters, it’s Adam, Co-founder & CEO of Daffy
Alejandro & I are proud to launch Daffy for Developers, a set of APIs designed to bring charitable giving to your applications and services.
https://daffy.org/developer
🙏 Why?
Every incumbent in financial services has giving built into their platform, typically through a proprietary donor-advised fund provider. But despite the incredible innovation of the past decade, almost none of the successful new companies do. They have made it so easy to spend, save money, buy and sell securities or crypto, and even offer complex services like tax-loss harvesting. But where is giving? 🤔
Our mission at Daffy is to help people be more generous, more often, and as excited as we are about the platform we have built, the fact is we can’t tackle an opportunity this large alone. Our dream is to see every financial application, every financial advisor, every accountant, and every workplace incorporate giving. That’s why we’ve made Daffy for Developers accessible to everyone, and want you to join us!
So, here’s a quick rundown of what you can do:
🤖 Our Developer APIs
With Daffy for APIs, developers will be able to easily and seamlessly Daffy features into their app by integrating with our modern donor-advised fund platform, such as:
- Access your fund balance & get your donation history
- Create one-time or recurring donations
- Contribute stock, ETFs, or crypto
- Find charities in our database of 1.5M+ legal charities in the U.S.
- Send Daffy Gifts, a virtual charity gift card
We’ve open-sourced a few examples of applications built:
✅ Workplace Rewards: This Slack bot allows you to send a Daffy Gift, a digital charity gift card, to anyone on your team.
✅ Miss using AmazonSmile: This Chrome plug-in makes donations based on your spending.
So dive in, explore, and don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or feedback.
It’s time to build!

P.S. If you work at a personal finance app, roboadvisor, crypto app, financial advisory platform, or e-commerce site, you can request access to private Partner APIs by contacting us at [email protected]
@adamnash Hey Adam, this is amazing! Cheese has a give-back fund and we have to do all the work manually at the backend. This API is great to use for the Cheese credit builder since we have a growing AUM from users, we can think of a way to encourage users to donate % of their savings to charities. Does it come with auto tax filing afterward? Is there a limit on each donation? A good use case might be asking users to donate $1 when they make the monthly payment to their credit builder account. We will discuss this internally and see how we plan it on our roadmap. Great product!
Cool! A few off the cuff ideas:
1. Slack swear jar for your team!
2. Give users the ability to round up on purchases to donate
3. Do donation matching during giving week
There's lots of fodder for cool stuff here!
