Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Martin, a dad in Dublin with a daughter who's nearly two. As her hair has started to grow, I've realised I have no idea how to do it, and I'd like to be ready when the time comes. So I built Dad Hair Hero to learn it myself, one step at a time, the way I'd want it explained: what my hands should be doing, and how to tell when it's right. I'm by no means an expert on hair. What I've done is gather as much as my experience and research could pull together, and package it in a way I'd find useful myself. This project is a gift to my present and future self. It's also something I hope my daughter will look back on with pride: something her daddy did to make her day a little better, and our relationship a little stronger. How it started: this began as part of an upskilling project. I'm a marketer, not a developer, and I wanted to learn to build with AI tools by making something I needed. When I looked, there were very few apps covering this. There are some great Instagram accounts, but they're usually built around one creator's daughter and her hair. I wanted a tool that lots of different dads could use, whatever their daughter's hair type, and where you control the pace: one step at a time, moving on only when you're ready. It's free to use, with an optional one-time pack and no subscription, no ads and no account. Nothing leaves your phone. It's early days, and it will only get better with feedback from people who use it. I'd love to hear what you think, especially from any dads (or mums, grandparents and carers) who've had to learn this the hard way. Martin
