Your site broke after an update. The standard fix: deactivate every plugin, then turn them back on one by one, on a live site. Culprit Finder switches plugins off for your browser only and asks one question per step: is the problem still there? Each answer halves the suspects, about 7 answers for 30 plugins. Visitors keep the real site, nothing is deactivated, and it catches two plugins that only break together. Free on WordPress.org. Pro adds auto-checking and client reports.

Hey Product Hunt, I'm Lahcen, a full-stack developer who has spent years fixing WordPress sites. Every time a site breaks after an update, the advice is the same: deactivate all plugins, then turn them back on one by one. On a live store that means real customers hit a broken checkout while you click through 30 checkboxes. And if two plugins only break together, one-by-one often misses it. So I built Culprit Finder: - Plugins are switched off for your browser only. Visitors, search engines and other admins keep the full site, and your saved plugin list never changes. - One question per step: is the problem still there? Each answer halves the suspects, so 30 plugins take about 7 answers. - It finds pairs that only fail together, then confirms them. - You get a report you can paste into any support forum, with no site address, user names or emails in it. - Several ways out: an Exit button, an emergency link that works even when logged out, and an automatic stop after 60 idle minutes. The plugin is free on WordPress.org and makes no external requests. Pro is an optional add-on for people who do this for clients: it checks each step for you, tests your theme, and writes a branded client report. What it can't test: your theme (in the free version), must-use plugins, drop-ins and server settings. If the problem stays with every plugin off, it tells you. I'd love your feedback, especially from anyone who maintains client sites. What's the worst plugin conflict you've had to hunt down?

Who hunted Culprit Finder?

Culprit Finder was hunted by Lahcen Alhiane. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
