CronWatch records every run of your scheduled jobs in your own database, and speaks up when one is missed, fails, gets stuck, runs slow or costs too much. It is a library, not a service. No server to run, no account to make, and run history that stays in your database. An alert carries the error and the last lines of output to the channels you pick, and to Anthropic only if you turn on triage. MIT licensed.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 CronWatch is a free, open source library for monitoring cron and scheduled jobs. It lives inside your app. Every run gets recorded in the database you already have (SQLite, Postgres, MySQL, or D1), and alerts go straight from your app to Slack, Discord, email, SMS, a webhook, or your error tracker. There's no server to run and no account to make. It tells you when a job: - Never ran - Failed (with the error and the last lines of output) - Got stuck - Ran slow - Went over budget - Wrote nothing at all It works with TypeScript, Ruby, Python, PHP, Go, Rust, Elixir, Java and .NET, and plugs into the schedulers you're probably already using (there's also Wordpress, Drupal, and Craft CMS plugins). Sidekiq, Solid Queue, Celery, Laravel, Oban, Hangfire, Spring and a bunch more. In a lot of cases it reads the schedule straight from your scheduler config. A few extras I'm happy with: - A dashboard that mounts in your app at /cronwatch - An MCP server so Claude Code or Cursor can tell you what broke - A setup prompt you can paste into your coding agent to wire up every job - Optional AI triage that adds a short diagnosis to each alert And it's also free and open source, MIT licensed. Code's on GitHub: https://github.com/phillips-jon/... I'd love feedback, issues and PRs. If your scheduler isn't supported yet, tell me which one. Thank you :)

Who hunted CronWatch?

CronWatch was hunted by Jon C. Phillips. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
