Hi Product Hunt 👋

"Is this actually good for me?" I kept asking that in the supermarket, flipping boxes around, squinting at ingredient lists I couldn't decode. Existing scanners gave me one generic score for everyone, which never matched what I actually care

about.

So we built Crispl.

You point your camera at a barcode and get a score in about 2 seconds. No barcode? Scan the label itself with AI and still get the analysis. The part I'm most proud of: the score is made for YOU. It starts from nutritional value (in

line with the Nutri-Score), how processed the food is (NOVA) and additives, then adapts to your goals, your diet and the ingredients you want to avoid.

The same product can score differently for you than for me, and that's the whole point.

A few things that make it different:

• Allergens and intolerances you set are highlighted instantly, so you don't reread the whole list (always check the label too).

• Better alternatives in the same category, sold in your country, with a higher score.

• Ask Crispl: an AI chat that answers in plain language, based on what you scanned.

• A diary with weekly trends, and a community taste rating next to the nutrition score.

It's free to use every day. Pro unlocks unlimited scans, AI photo scans, the AI chat and "why it's better" on alternatives.

For the launch we're offering a Lifetime plan for early adopters.

Crispl gives nutritional information to help you choose better. It is not medical advice and doesn't replace a doctor or health professional.

I'll be here all day answering everything. What would make you trust a food score enough to actually change what you buy? Genuinely want to hear it. 🙏

A note for the builders here 🛠️

Crispl is AI-shaped: I built it in about 3 weeks with heavy AI assistance across the whole stack (Flutter app, .NET API, MongoDB). It's not a throwaway prototype though. I'm a senior engineer and I can read, debug and maintain every line, so

if the AI hype cooled off tomorrow the codebase would be just fine.

And to be clear about where AI is and isn't: the nutrition score is deterministic, auditable logic (nutritional value in line with the Nutri-Score, plus NOVA and additives, then personalized to you), not an AI black box.

AI does the label reading when there's no barcode, and the in-app chat. What decides your score is plain, transparent rules.

Happy to talk shop on how it came together if anyone's curious. What do you want to know?
