We kept watching teams solve the same problem badly, over and over: someone would finally get a good fallback chain working — the right provider, the right cap, the right fallback when the primary model was uncertain — and then have no way to actually give that to another team. Just a Slack message or a screenshot that missed half the details. Meanwhile we'd already built the enforcement layer for Credlier — real hard caps, real ledger tracking across providers. It felt obvious once we saw it: if we already know exactly what a config costs and saves, why not let people fork the config itself instead of just describing it? That's where Leave a Prompt came from. (If there's a real moment — a specific customer conversation, a support ticket, something you personally hit while managing your own AI spend — swap that in. Specific beats general every time on PH.) What problem were you trying to solve? AI teams manage spend across five or more providers with zero shared visibility. Everyone's solving the fallback-chain-and-spend-cap problem independently, from scratch, even though the answer another team already found would probably work for them too. Prompt libraries solve half of this — they let you share what to type. But nobody was solving the budget half: what to spend, and what to do when the primary model isn't confident enough. Leave a Prompt is our answer to that — fork a working, enforced spend policy, not just a prompt. How did your approach or process evolve while working on this launch? We initially treated this as a small feature addition — bolt a "share" button onto existing wallet configs and ship it. Pretty quickly that felt thin. A share button doesn't build trust; it just moves a screenshot from Slack to inside the product. The real unlock was realizing the ledger data we already had for enforcement could double as proof. Once we tied savings percentages directly to the usage ledger instead of letting people self-report them, the whole feature got more credible — "42% savings, 12 forks" means something different when it's computed, not typed in. We also had to think harder about the trust boundary than we expected. Sharing a config is easy; sharing it without exposing API keys or account access took more design work than the fork mechanic itself. That ended up being the part we're proudest of — you get someone else's proven set-up, they get nothing of yours.
